Working Thick -Kiln Formed Glass-

Ready to take your Fusing skills to the next level? This 6 week class explores a world of possibilities when working thick in kiln formed glass. Matthew will discuss how to successfully design and fabricate a one of a kind art glass piece of your choosing. Students will have the opportunity to explore glass working techniques using sheet glass, frits and powders, metal foils, refractory papers and boards. While working towards a main project of your choosing like a bowl, sink or slab of glass up to 24 by 48 inches and 1 inch thick! For sculptural pieces mounting considerations will also be discussed. Lastly we will discuss how to successfully fire and finish your piece using various tools and machinery.

Class cost includes tuition only *all materials are extra*

Previous glass cutting and basic fusing knowledge is required. Depending on the complexity of your piece you may also need to work at home in order to finish your piece.
