1949 Avro C102 Jetliner

A one of a kind stained glass piece featuring the iconic Canadian-built 1949 Avro C102 Jetliner.

Our client, Brian requested that we recreate a vintage photograph that was taken of the Jet on the tarmac with a fuel truck to its right. As always we were up for a good challenge and we got to work designing the piece to allow us to recreate the photo as close as possible in stained glass. We added a hand painted logo to the top left as well as painted details throughout the plane and truck.

The client had a custom maple wood light box made by a local cabinet maker with a matching maple carrying case both of which were engraved with the Avro Logo! We then installed the stained glass and high output LED lighting into the cabinet. This will allow this piece to be backlit and displayed anywhere in the client’s current and future homes with no need for sunlight.

As you can see by the clients smile he was very happy with his piece and we were honoured to bring his vision to life in glass!
